About Bishop Rey

Bishop Reynaldo Domingo was born on 09 January 1941 to Francisco Domingo, a farmer, and Liwayway Cruz, a housewife. He was orphaned at an early age but was able to complete his education through his persistence in working as a farmer.

In 1961, he entered full-time ministry at the age of 20, giving up his life-long dream to be a lawyer. On 22 January 1966, he married his first love, Lualhati Rodriguez. She is the daughter of Rev. Pablo Rodriguez, who was then the pastor of his home church (IEMELIF Novaliches), and Ptra. Bernardina Vizcarra, a housewife.

They had five children – Ebenezer (born on 15 January 1967), Reynaldo Jr (born on 27 July 1968), Rene (born on 27 August 1973), Ethel May (born on 1 May 1977) and Renette Glory (born on 1 July 1981).

The Lord saw fit to take two of Bishop Rey’s children at an early age. Rene died of dengue when he was 6, on 23 December 1979. His sister, Renette, who was born two years after his death, was named after him at the request of Bishop Rey. Ezer died of cancer when he was 26, on 3 February 1993. He was in his first year at the UP Law School, on the way to fulfill Bishop Rey’s dream of being a lawyer and defending the poor.

Despite the sorrow from the death of his two sons, Bishop Rey experienced a deep happiness in being a grandfather and being called “Lolo Eneng” by his four precious grandchildren. In 1993, Rey Jr married Beatriz Cruz, a member of IRM Marikina , and they had three children – Raicielle Bernice, Ray Brian and Rizpah Bea. In 2004, Ethel May married Joel de Vera, a member of IRM Cainta, and they have one daughter – Danielle Anne. In 2009, Renette Glory married Sidney Carlo Francisco, a member of IRM Marikina.

“The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away;
blessed be the name of the LORD.”
Job 1:21b

    Dear Addie,

    Yes I still remember you – a bright young man from Meycauayan IRM Church. I thank the Lord that you are now co-pastoring a church in Malolos. Please remember, in serving God, it is not what we know but who we are inside that matters. God bless you, your family and your ministry!
