I just would like to ask if it’s possible to receive a gift of celibacy even if you are not desiring for it. Thanks and more power!
Thank you for your honest question. I am inclined to believe that you are a woman already in the marrying age. You might be teased by your friends that you have the gift of celibacy.
Please understand that since we are in our mother’s womb, God has a perfect plan for each one of us. And marriage is one of the major decisions and experiences for each one of us.
One of the gifts that the Lord gave me is preaching. This gift is one which is a part of my life even in the early years when I was not a pastor yet. I experience fulfillment in the exercise of it, and wherever I go, whatever I read or hear, there is present in me always an inclination to make a message or to receive seed thoughts for a sermon.
As I read your question, I feel that you resent the idea of having none to call your partner in life (whether husband or wife).
My advice to you is to live a life honoring to God. Pray to Him for this particular need, wait on God, do not assume that if a member of the opposite sex befriended you and is giving you special attention that s/he is the one for you.
Wait on God, don’t rush things. If s/he is God’s person for you, let Him (God) confirm it to you.
From your note, I sense that the Lord did not give you the gift of celibacy.
Yours in behalf of the million of crying Filipinos,
