About Speaking in Tongues

January 28, 2009

This question is from For counselling received on 22 January 2009 at 8:20 PM.

Bishop
is speaking in tongues really 1 of proofs dat a man is baptized in d spirit?
Isnt it dat its more impt f a man has d fruits of d Holy Spirit in him?
It is sad to tel u dat dat is what other pastors of irm are claiming-the emphasis of tounges

Dear For counseling,

Thank you for your question.

1. Speaking in tongues is not necessarily the proof of the fullness or baptism of the Holy Spirit. There are those who were baptized by the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, but there are those who were not.

2. Acts 1:8 told us that the proof of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is power - ”and you will receive power…” It is power over sin, power to live a holy life, power over Satan and his host.

3. If possible, please text me and tell me who are those pastors who are claiming that speaking in tongues is the proof of being baptized by the Holy Spirit. My number is 0920-8400164.

About IRM

January 19, 2009

This question is from lil_bro1969 received on 16 January 2009 at 7:39  PM.

I  just want to ask if IRM is from the original IEMELIF church or is it the new name for it. Why you call it a reformed movement..

Dear lil_bro1969,

Thank you for caring to look at my website. Well, IRM is a group that separated from the IEMELIF Church in 1992. We were 105 local congregations then, but now by the grace of God we are already 368 in number. We call ourselves a reform movement to deviate from the traditional way of the IEMELIF church life. One example is in the way of worship.

Yours in behalf of the million of crying Filipinos,

BISHOP REYNALDO DOMINGO
Chairman, IRM Church
