Bishop Rey's Marinduque Trip

November 4, 2008

Please pray for Bishop Rey who will be in Marinduque from Nov 6 (Thursday) to Nov 9 (Sunday) along with his wife, Pastora Ati. Together with several members of the Council of Elders, he will be holding Revival Seminars and Council Visitation to the workers and members of IRM churches in the province of Marinduque.

Please pray for their health (they just came from Pangasinan last week), their safety during travel (they will be taking a ship to reach Marinduque), and for the anointing of the Holy Spirit on their ministry. Please also pray that the Lord will prepare the hearts of those who will attend the revival seminars.

“For where two or three come together in My Name, there am I with them.”  Matthew 18:20

Council Visitation at Pangasinan

November 1, 2008

Last October 29-31, Bishop Reynaldo Domingo, along with members of the IRM Council of Elders, held a Revival Seminar and Council Visitation at Centeno Farms, Larig-Larig, Malasique, Pangasinan. Around 40 workers and members from IRM churches in Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, La Union and Baguio attended the event.

After lunch on the first day, the delegates had a prayer celebration to worship the Lord and to ask for his guidance for the coming days. Dinner followed, after which the first revival night was held, with Bishop Rey preaching about Jabez and His Prayer.

The next day, Rev. Rey Salazar gave a short devotional message called “God Means Just What He Says” based on Numbers 23:19. He talked about holding on to the unchanging promises of God, and ended by sharing his personal experience after the death of his wife, Deac. Bel Salazar, two years ago. Deac. Mila Cortez then gave a report on Christian Education, and discussed various projects such as Operation Christmas Child and Operation Blessing. Rev. Ariel Sedomo followed by introducing the principles of Natural Church Development, a program that will be implemented in all IRM churches starting November 22.

After lunch, a panel discussion was held to discuss various important church issues. Rev. Benito Eisma explained the current practice of remitting 25% of the local church fund to the national treasury, and talked about concerns on the the properties and the Foreign Missions of IRM. Rev. Marcelo Chavez talked about church records and the workers’ SSS membership. The delegates were also given the chance to raise questions they may have, so that the Council of Elders can provide answers.

After the panel discussion, everyone broke into small groups for a Bible study, each according to their position or responsibility in church. Bishop Rey handled the group composed of board chairpersons and mission heads, while Rev. Rey Salazar handled the pastors group. Other church officers were grouped accordingly as well, with Rev. Benito Eisma and Bro. Zosimo Cruz for the board treasurers, and Rev. Marcelo Chavez for the church secretaries. Deaconesses were separated into two groups, with Deac. Mila Cortez handling the singles and Ptra. Lualhati Domingo handling the married deaconesses and pastors wives. All the other delegates were handled by Rev. Ariel Sedomo and Rev. Rufino dela Cruz.

After the small group discussion, Rev. Rey Salazar together with Rev. Paul Romulo gave a seminar on the bridge illustration. To ensure learning, all the delegates were asked to pair off and apply what they learned by pretending to witness to their partner using the bridge illustration. Dinner followed, after which the second revival night was held with Bishop Rey preaching on Faithful in God’s Service.

The next morning, Rev. Rufino dela Cruz gave a short devotional message to open the day’s activities. This was followed by another small group discussion, following the previous day’s groupings. After a short break, Rev. Ariel Sedomo continued his lecture on the principles of NCD.

Before closing the event, all the delegates went up to the Council of Elders to thank them personally (while singing “Salamat Sa Iyo“) and Rev. Moises dela Cruz from IRM San Ricardo lead everyone in praying for the Council of Elders.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for this activity. To view other pictures from the event, please click here.
