Last November 6-8, Bishop Reynaldo Domingo, along with members of the IRM Council of Elders, held a Revival Seminar and Council Visitation at Balogo, Marinduque. Around 50 workers and members from IRM churches in Marinduque attended the event.

dsc02782xTravel time took more than 7 hours, with the Council of Elders driving to Lucena, then taking a ship to Marinduque. This gave them time to fellowship with one another, and to catch up on some needed rest.

Upon their arrival, the Council was pleasantly surprised to see that the group has already started the prayer celebration while waiting for them. Dinner followed, after which the first revival night was held, with Bishop Rey preaching about Jabez and His Prayer.

Very early the next morning, most of the Council members dsc02823xheaded to the ocean, which was just a few meters from the beach house where they stayed. This became their routine every morning – swimming and relaxing in the ocean, before preparing for the activities for the whole day.

After breakfast, Rev. Rey Salazar gave a short devotional message called “I Have a Dream” based on Joseph’s dream in Genesis 37. Deac. Mila Cortez then gave a report on Christian Education, and discussed various projects such as Operation Christmas Child and Operation Blessing. Rev. Ariel Sedomo followed by explaining the principles of Natural Church Development, a program that is being implemented in all IRM churches starting November 22.

After a hearty lunch, everyone broke into small groups for a Bible study, each according to their position or responsibility in church. Bishop Rey handled the group composed of pastors, Rev. Benito dsc02827xEisma and Bro. Zosimo Cruz handled the board chairpersons and treasurers, and Rev. Marcelo Chavez handled the church secretaries. Deaconesses were separated into two groups, with Deac. Mila Cortez handling the singles and Ptra. Lualhati Domingo handling the married deaconesses and pastors wives. All the other delegates were handled by Rev. Willy Bugayong.

After the group Bible study, Rev. Rey Salazar discussed evangelism methods using materials from My Hope Philippines, and explained to the delegates how to use the bridge illustration. To ensure learning, all the delegates were asked to pair off and apply what they learned by pretending to witness to their partner using the bridge illustration. Dinner followed afterwards.

dsc02820xThe second revival night was held, with Bishop Rey preaching on servanthood. A panel discussion ensued to discuss various important church issues. Rev. Benito Eisma explained the current practice of remitting 25% of the local church fund to the national treasury, and talked about concerns on the the properties and the Foreign Missions of IRM. Rev. Marcelo Chavez talked about church records and the workers’ SSS membership. The delegates were also given the chance to raise questions they may have, so that the Council of Elders can provide answers.

The next morning, Rev. Willy Bugayong gave a short devotional message on “How You Can Face Your Goliath” based on 1 Samuel 17. This was the last activity for the seminar, and the delegates all headed home afterwards, blessed by the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the IRM Council of Elders.
