To the Church of the Good Shepherd (USA)

To Pastor Pio Paraiso Jr, the church officials and the members of the Church of the Good Shepherd,

Greetings of peace to you all!

I just read the communication of Pastor Pio Paraiso Jr to you explaining where the money you entrusted to the IRM for missions is being spent. Thank you for so many years already of your partnership with us in the great task of ushering sinners to the fold of our Lord and Master – the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am very thankful that Pastor Pio accurately remembers where your money goes. It was sixteen years ago (1992) when IRM was birthed with 105 congregations and daughter churches. As of today, the IRM has 372 congregations and daughter churches. — It is our goal that by the end of 2010, we will be able to present at the feet of our Savior another 300 daughter churches.

I am indeed honoured with the friendship of your pastor, Pastor Pio Paraiso Jr., for through him the IRM was introduced to you. — May I say that your partnership with us (the IRM) for so many years now is deeply appreciated.

The Philippines is truly ripe for the harvest. I am thankful for the many new mega-churches here who are ministering to the elite of the society, the celebrities and the wealthy. — On the other hand, the ministry that was entrusted to the IRM is to minister among the middle class, and especially among the poor and helpless in the remote baranggays of the Philippines.

Usually, in many of these remote baranggays, no evangelical witness is present. I believe that it is not fair for someone to hear the message of salvation three times while others have not heard it even once. — This propels me to continuously minister to these people and be prepared to build churches to be subsidised for long.

The Philippines (our beloved land) as of today is one of the poorest countries in the world, the most corrupt nation in Asia and was ranked as the 11th most corrupt nation in the world. — As many are saying, there seems to be no more hope for this nation. — But so many of us committed Christians here remain believing that Christ our Savior is the only hope. This is the reason why we keep on kindling our evangelistic zeal through the Spirit of God. Many among the IRM pastors, deaconesses and missionaries are ministering to 2 or 3 churches at the same time, spending their very own allowances for transportation. What sustains them is the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the encouragement from the Word of God to snatch from hell many of those who have not heard the Gospel, and in doing so effect a change in our corrupt and morally declining society.

Yours in behalf of the waiting millions of Filipinos,
